2020 Ford Explorer

2020 Ford Explorer comes as long wait and wanted new version of the famous truck. We all remember the Jurassic Park and the popularity that the first model had after that movie, but obviously the model had to be changed following the new generation of the buyers. That new version finally came, with many upgrades in design, while the engines should be the same, with optional hybrid version of one of them.

Exterior

The main change in 2020 Ford Explorer from the last version is a new platform that is used from this year. It is Ford’s CD6 architecture, that is used on Lincoln Aviator, which surely shares the design of the model with Explorer. However, the similarities with the Honda Pilot, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Buick Enclave are not there by accident. Aiming to be one of the most popular models in the class, Explorer is much more modern. However, the sides of the truck, along with the shape of the bumper and lights point at new, sleeker and smoother shape of the vehicle.

Interior

The cabin inside of the 2020 Ford Explorer is acceptably large and spacious and include newly designed seats. Higher trims obviously come with leather upholstery. However, the best in this model is surely equipment including pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, lane-keeping aid and heads-up display with traffic sign recognition. The manufacturer also includes Sync 3 infotainment system, large touchscreen, and great sound and audio system.

Engine

When it comes to the engine, it would be surprising to expect much changes in strength and types of them. There should be found the same 2.3-liter turbo four-cylinder petrol engine in base model, along with the 3.3-liter V6 (which comes as a hybrid version, too), and 3.0-liter V6 Eco Boost model. All should be matched with the ten-speed automatic transmission, while the standard model could produce 400 horsepower of strength and 400 pound-feet of torque. When it comes to the hybrid engine, it will include a lithium-ion battery placed in the rear cargo area.

2020 Ford Explorer Release Date and Price

Since this is a renovated model that surely starts with the great recommendations, it is hard to believe that it will remain the price of $32,000 for the base model and the highest price of $53,000 for the model with all additions and equipment. However, the manufacturer has not said much about the price so we should wait for the final releasing date. According to the manufacturer, it could be early in 2019 and the manufacturer is preparing the vehicle for the first Auto Shows next year.
