The revival of the legendary SUV has been officially confirmed. After more than two decades of waiting, we are about to see a familiar nameplate on the market again. This time, as 2020 Ford Bronco. So far, we don’t know many details about the new model, but latest reports suggest that it should be the Wrangler’s new arch rival. This is a clear indicator that should expect a vehicle that successfully combines off-road capabilities with attractive styling. The company expects a lot from this model, which should hit the market already in the next year.
Though we are still waiting for some official info, it is pretty certain that the new 2020 Ford Bronco will share a lot of things with new Ranger. This mid-size truck is coming back to the U.S. market after years of wandering through Australian deserts. The new SUV should rival new-generation Jeep Wrangler, which came with a lot of changes recently. One of them is a new aluminum body, so there is no doubt that the new 2020 Bronco will adopt all those design solutions from F-150, all in order to save as many pounds as possible. This would mean a massive use of lightweight materials like aluminum and HSS in its body and chassis.
Exterior and Interior Design
Ford keeps all details as a secret, so it is hard to say something more specific about the 2020 Ford Bronco’s styling at the moment. At first, we expected from a new model to feature a Raptor-inspired look. This would mean a lot of black plastic details and other details that accentuate the truck’s off-road character. Considering that Ford already has one Ranger-based SUV in its lineup, called Everest, we could expect to see a bit of its flavor on new Bronco as well. Finally, there is a model for the Brazilian market called Troller. This is another model that could become an inspiration for this revival. On the other side, interior design seems like a complete mystery at the moment, so we will have to wait for some time to get more specific details about the cabin design, dashboard layout etc.
Unlike previous generations that have been relying on V8 engines, the new 2020 Ford Bronco will rely on far more efficient V6 engines. One of the engines that will most likely find its place under the hood is Ford’s familiar 2.7-liter EcoBoost unit. This engine is good for about 325 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. A diesel version also seems possible, as well as a hi-performance, Raptor-badged variant.
2020 Ford Bronco Release Date and Price
The new 2020 Ford Bronco will most likely have its premiere at the 2019 Auto Show in Detroit. Soon after, a production model should come as well. Base models should cost around $30,000 to $35,000 .
