2020 Audi RS Q3 Spotted At The ‘Ring, Hosts A 400-Hp Mill Under The Hood

Audi is currently working on the RS version of the Q8 SUV. However, the flagship vehicle is not going to be the only high-riding racing machine of the German car manufacturer. No, because they have a plan to put an impressive engine in their second-smallest crossover yet again. We know that thanks to the fresh spy shots of the all-new 2020 Audi RS Q3.

The small SUV has been spied lapping the Nürburgring a few hours ago. Now, judging by the scream that the vehicle produced, the car manufacturer is most likely using a turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine that currently powers the RS3. The option will likely deliver 400 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. The power will be sent to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic with manual shifting mode. By using the drivetrain, the small SUV will most likely be able to speed up from 0 to 60 mph in just 4 seconds, or even quicker.

Even though it’s totally covered up with the heavy camouflage, the topper is essentially different than the regular Q3. As far as we can see, the vanilla option hosts a bigger grille in the front, as well as pretty large air intakes in each corner. The rear bumper shows a quartet of pipes at the moment, but that’s not going to the case with the production model for sure. Instead, the fastest Q3 will rather use a pair of oval tips. The hot vehicle rides on pretty big wheels which are paired with massive brakes. More precisely, the front wheels are fitted with six-piston calipers that back up carbon ceramic discs.

We are not sure how the 2020 Audi RS Q3 is going to look inside, though it’s quite possible that the cabin gets pretty much the same equipment as the regular Q3. Of course, there will be some special details like metallic accent, special seats, and steering wheel, as well as RS badges, but everything else should mirror the regular model, so you can expect a digital instrument cluster, an improved infotainment system, and modern driver assistance features.

The topping Q3 will not appear soon. No, the carmaker will probably introduce it in the second half of 2019.
