2019 Kia Sportage Facelift: New Details and Spy Shots

The facelifted 2019 Kia Sportage is something we know it is coming. Moreover, we’ve caught the camouflaged crossover earlier. Still, new spy shots indicate something we didn’t see so far. The Korean car manufacturer has revealed some of the new styling cues. As you may notice, the compact hosts totally redesigned LED-treated taillights in the rear. The bumper gets two oval exhaust pipes, which is one more new detail around back.

In the front, the 2019 Sportage seems to feature new headlights with a quartet of circular daytime running lights. The front bumper appears to have a few new details as well. There are redesigned fog lamps at sides, as well as totally different air intakes. Plus, the bumper is plated with some chrome, which seems to be a fine touch.

Since we are talking about a mid-cycle update, the cabin of the SUV should not see too many changes. Though, the interesting vehicle will definitely feature new upholstery, better quality materials, and updated infotainment system, while the manufacturer may also reconsider to boost driver assistance features.

New Spy Shots: 2019 Kia Sportage

The U.S.-specs 2019 Kia Sportage will continue to use a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 181 hp (135 kW) and 175 lb-ft (237 Nm) of torque. For those that need more power from some reason, the Korean car manufacturer will offer the 2019 Sportage SX Turbo model that uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. The four-cylinder mill develops 240 hp (179 kW) and 260 lb-ft (352 Nm) of torque. According to earlier reports, Kai will probably add a 48-volt mild hybrid version of one of its powertrains, so we can expect a bit better performance numbers from the updated compact crossover, as well as lower  CO2 emissions.
