According to the information and some recent spy photos that our team has got, it seems that besides the Wrangler, Jeep has been planning to release its Wrangler-based pickup truck known as the 2019 Jeep Gladiator for the upcoming year. The Gladiator will mostly resemble the previously mentioned model in terms of design, but it will offer some new engine choices under the hood.
When it comes to exterior of the 2019 Jeep Gladiator, we have already mentioned that this midsize pickup truck is going to resemble the Wrangler, probably because these two models will be sharing the platform. The new Gladiator should be available as the Crew Cab with four doors only, as far as we have been informed. This SUV will improve its off-road capability thanks to its better suspension system that will also be shared with the Wrangler model. Its towing capacity is also expected to be increased. The other changes and improvements are pretty much minor and cannot be easily notice. The new Gladiator will wear the Jeep’s recognizable seven-slat grille in the front end. You will also notice its round headlights that will use the latest LED technology. The front fascia will also get a more massive bumper with towing hooks under it. The back part of this vehicle will also appear slightly refreshed and the fans will probably find the spare tire under the bed instead of its regular position.
To be honest, there might be a lack of information when it comes to interior of the 2019 Jeep Gladiator, but the true fans mostly know what to expect inside the upcoming model. This pickup truck should reveal a better-equipped cabin with minor changes and updates in terms of comfort, materials and technology. The new Gladiator will offer two rows of seats, but the back seat passengers might have some space issues and it will be hardly used for seating. Other upgrades will probably involve the high-tech area and the upcoming Gladiator should probably receive an information display in the instrument cluster as well as a larger touch-screen with the infotainment system in center console.
The 2019 Jeep Gladiator will offer more than one engine choice under its hood. The first option will probably come with standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The other possibility could use a 3.6-liter V6 that delivers the output of 295 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The final version is most likely to come with a 3.0-liter Eco Diesel that produces 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. Whatever option you choose, the new Gladiator should be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
2019 Jeep Gladiator Release Date and Price
The release date of the 2019 Jeep Gladiator should probably happen by the end of this year. The price of the base model has been estimated to start at $29,000.
