It has been speculated recently that Ford might discontinue its Flex model for a while. It means that the new three-row crossover should be available after 2020. However, according to the information our team has got, there is a chance that the new Flex will hit the market soon as a 2019 model.
The 2019 Ford Flex is going to hit the market as a full-size four-door three-row crossover that will represent an excellent choice for either your family or your business trips. Namely, this robust and boxy-shaped crossover will show some wagon-like styling and large proportions. This definitely promises more space inside its cabin. It hasn’t been confirmed yet whether the new Flex will still ride on the same platform or get a brand-new one. We have also been informed that the Flex could share its platform with the Lincoln MKT model. Be that as it may, the Flex will keep most of the exterior features seen on its predecessor. Of course, some minor refreshments and updates can be noticed, especially in the front fascia. The front end will wear a distinctive chrome grille. The headlights will be C-shaped and use the latest LED technology. Some slightly redesigned features can be also found in the back part of the vehicle – including the LED taillights and dual exhaust tips. The Flex will stand on standard 17-inch alloy wheels and it will offer some new exterior color choices.
The interior of the 2019 Ford Flex will be quite spacious, comfortable and improved. Its cabin will offer three rows of seats for up to seven passengers. The front seats will offer options such as heating and cooling in higher trim levels and all the seats will be covered in high-quality materials, even leather. When it comes to innovations, the new Flex will provide the one-touch Power Fold that helps you fold the third row of seats and get more cargo space. The driver will also get a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a 4.2-inch central screen. The latest SYNC3 infotainment system will be included as well and it will provide features such as navigation, six-speaker audio system, dual-zone climate control, USB and Wi-Fi.
The base engine option that will be found under the hood of the 2019 Ford Flex is a 3.5-liter V6 that provides the output of 287 horsepower and 254 pound-feet of torque. The optional 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 is expected to deliver 365 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. The new Flex will get a six-speed automatic transmission.
