New range-topper arrives to replace ‘limited edition’ N-Tec variant, adding lux seat trim and boosting safety.
A new range-topping 2018 Nissan Qashqai Ti variant has arrived, replacing the ‘limited edition’ N-Tec stand-in that headlined the Australian launch of the facelifted line-up in December.
As revealed at the time, the Qashqai Ti is priced from $37,990, marking a slight increase over the $36,490 N-TEC it replaces and a $5000 premium over the $32,990 ST-L model beneath it.
Pricing is otherwise unchanged, with the base ST opening at $26,490 in six-speed manual form and $28,990 with a CVT (continuously variable transmission) automatic. All prices exclude on-road costs.
In addition to the N-TEC’s features, the Qashqai Ti adds quilted Nappa leather-accented seat trim, Intelligent Cruise Control and Intelligent Lane Intervention, boosting the small SUV’s style and safety credentials.
Carryover safety kit includes Intelligent Emergency Braking (autonomous emergency braking) with Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Hill Start Assist, Brake Assist, Adaptive Front-lighting, electric park brake with auto hold, parking sensors front and rear, and a rear-view camera.
Intelligent Park Assist features again, supported by 360-degree Intelligent Around View, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Moving Object Detection, Intelligent Driver Alert, Blind Spot Warning and High Beam Assist.
Standard kit in the cabin includes a 7.0-inch display with DAB+ digital radio, Bluetooth, satellite navigation, dual-zone climate control, one-touch window controls front and rear, and an auto-dimming mirror. Nissan’s infotainment system remains unchanged, which means no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
As before, power is provided by a 2.0-litre non-turbo petrol engine, producing 106kW and 200Nm of torque. Fuel consumption with the CVT auto is listed at 6.9L/100km on the combined cycle. (The manual ST lists fuel use at 7.7L/100km.)
Rear storage space is listed at 1598 litres with the back seats folded, and 430 litres with the seats upright. Towing capacity claims 1200kg braked, and 729kg unbraked.
